Neuss, September 15, 2026 – A gentle start in life for the very youngest: The Agency for Domestic Help presented the “Aktion Luftballon” support association at Lukas Hospital with a donation of 2,500 euros.
The donation will be used to purchase a new respiratory support device, also known as a flow therapy device. The device helps premature infants breathe more easily without taking over all of their breathing efforts.
The Friends of the Children's Clinic at Lukas Hospital has made it its mission to ensure the well-being of the children and their parents during their stay at the hospital.
“The first few days and weeks are especially crucial for premature babies. The donation helps our little patients immensely and supports us in our work on the ward—we’re very grateful for that,” says Dr. Jamany Quader, senior physician in the Department of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine and head of neonatology at Lukas Hospital.
A valuable source of support that can give the youngest children what they need: time, a sense of security, and the necessary medical care.
The donation of 5,000 euros was raised through a raffle held during the company’s first BIWAK event, thanks to the many guests in attendance. The proceeds were divided equally between two regional organizations dedicated to social causes.
