Entitlement to household help
If your health is impaired following an accident, an operation or a serious illness and you are no longer able to manage your household on your own, your doctor may prescribe household help. (§ 38 SGB V)
We will of course support you from the application stage and help you to claim your entitlement to help quickly and easily from the health insurance fund.

Home help per medical prescription
A sudden stay in hospital can present us with unexpected physical challenges. Whether after an accident, an operation or due to a serious illness, sometimes it is not immediately possible to take care of all the small and large tasks of everyday life. If you experience such a physical impairment due to your health, you are usually entitled to a home help paid for by your health insurance.
You can easily apply for this with the help of a corresponding medical prescription in accordance with §38 SGB V. Our qualified staff will of course be happy to assist you in this process to ensure that you receive the help you are entitled to quickly and smoothly.

If you are permanently dependent on help, we will support you in applying for a care degree.

Who is entitled to support according to a doctor's prescription?
In principle, every person is entitled to household help as soon as they have a doctor's prescription confirming the medical necessity of household help in accordance with § 38 SGB V and this prescription has been approved by the health insurance fund. This applies in particular if you are temporarily unable to manage your household independently following an accident or an operation.

Am I entitled to support after every operation?
You are not automatically entitled to household help after every operation. The decisive factor is that household management is restricted by your health situation and your attending physician certifies the medical necessity of household help in accordance with § 38 SGB V. This medical prescription must then be approved by your health insurance company. This medical prescription must then be approved by your health insurance fund.
Typical cases in which household help is provided are operations after which you are temporarily physically restricted, longer-term rehabilitation or complicated operations where you are unable to manage your everyday tasks independently. Will my private health insurance cover the costs?
If the requirements for entitlement to household help are met - i.e. a doctor's prescription for the medical necessity of household help in accordance with § 38 SGB V and household management is limited by the health restriction - privately insured persons can also apply to their health insurance fund for the costs to be covered.

Am I also entitled if I take part in a rehabilitation program?
You may also be entitled to professional domestic help during or after rehabilitation. The prerequisite is that your treating doctor issues you with a medical prescription for the medical necessity of household help in accordance with § 38 SGB V and that this prescription is subsequently approved by your health insurance fund.
During this period, our helpers will take care of all the necessary household tasks - from cleaning, laundry and shopping to organizational tasks - so that you can concentrate fully on your recovery and aftercare. How long will I receive support?
The duration of the support depends on your individual situation, the severity of the operation or accident and the recommendations of your attending physician. As a rule, household assistance is based on the period during which you are temporarily unable to manage your household independently.
